Abdominoplasty – Plastic Surgery
Abdominoplasty Dr. Ovidio Alarcón shares the following important remarks regarding this type of plastic surgery:
“Today it is commonly referred as lipoabdominoplasty given that it is the result of combined two techniques: liposuction and abdominoplasty. This procedure is prescribed for those that have lost significant weight or alter pregnancies. It consists of the resection of skin and fat to remove excess to the level of the belly button, tensing the abdominal wall with internal rebuilding of the muscular fascia and liposuction. The shape of the belly button is changed but remains at the same height. This procedure is realized under epidural or general anesthesia and requires hospitalization. A post-surgery dressing is prescribed for two months. Early post-operation therapies are required and incapacity is of three weeks. Exercise can start after a month without any abdominal sit-ups. The complications are those inherent to the liposuction and loss of the belly button’s hypertrophy scar.” If you wish to obtain more information regarding ABDOMINOPLASTY, please review our section CONSULT THE DOCTOR
